Stop Exercising … Start Moving !

Nia follows the pleasure principle:  If it feels good, do it; if it doesn’t, stop.  Nia is a fitness technique that replaces the idea of punishment with pleasure. This completely unique program tones and trims the body through pleasurable movement.  Nia is movement as medicine.  Nia is adaptable to every level of fitness, every age and type of body, from highly trained athletes to those who have special physical limitations.  Nia is a cardiovascular workout that uses whole-body, expressive, grounded movement, rather than repetitive jumping or lifting.  Nia was the first form of fusion fitness, and encompasses movement forms from the martial arts, dance, and the healing arts.  Nia is like chocolate – you can’t describe it, you have to taste it. You have to experience it to believe it!

About Jeanna:

I have been teaching a variety of group fitness formats for over nine years, but Nia has proven to me that exercise can and should feel great! This is hands down the most fun I’ve ever had while "working" out. More importantly, Nia strengthens more than just my muscles by engaging my mind and emotions as an integral part of the format. Nia has brought profound joy into my life, and I’m proud to share this experience with my students. I completed the Nia Brown Belt in 2012, and also have a Group Fitness Instructor certification from the American Council on Exercise. When I'm not dancing Nia, I work at the Seattle VA Hospital doing neurobiology research with a focus on Alzheimer's and ALS.

I don't have any trainings scheduled at this time. Please check back later.
