I have been teaching Nia on Cape Cod since 2003, and am now a Certified Nia Black Belt.  I started dancing early in life, taking ballet from age 3 then moving to jazz until age 14.  I have always been among the first to hit the floor at school dances and weddings, and live by the phrase "Dance Like Nobody's Watching."  I discovered Nia in the summer of 2001 at the National Wellness Conference at Stevens Point, Wisconsin, at a time in my life when I was struggling to be myself.  I was immediately attracted to the vocalization piece, and my body loved the blended movements.  From puberty, I have struggled to maintain a healthy weight; Nia let me be--as is--and encouraged me to dance again!  After taking my White Belt, I lost 10 pounds the first year and another 10 pounds the second year.

I teach several regular Nia classes each week, and have enjoyed two long summers of Nia on the Beach!  Now a mother, I am enjoying Nia's five sensations of functional fitness: flexibility, agility, mobility, strength and stability!

Learning, teaching, and embodying Nia has been one of the most fulfilling journeys of my life; come dance with me!
