I love the sensation of being in my body, feeling the moment fully, and expressing my uniqueness through movement. This has not always come easily to me though, as I have an active mind. Nia has really assisted me come home to my body and find greater depth, richness and pleasure in life. I feel Nia is a gift to the body and I love sharing this modality.
Now a little about my background and myself… I live in the mountains of South East Queensland and hold a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education and a BA in Communications. I have always had a strong interest in the performing arts and have attended acting schools in New York City and London. My favourite classes at those schools were the movement classes, as I loved working with the body in a creative and expressive way and experiencing the transformative power of the body. I have also completed ballroom and Latin dancing examinations to Gold Star level, competed in Dancesport competitions and worked in community arts development.
I am now also a Ka Huna body worker which is a wonderful compliment to teaching Nia.
I invite you to come and dance with me and experience the bliss of joy through movement, a greater sense of wellbeing and improved health.
“When you dare to cultivate pleasure instead of stress, you create a life of unbridled joy and vibrant health” Christiane Northrup, MD.
