I first discovered Nia in Autumn 2007 and took my White Belt in May 2009. Since then I have been teaching two or three classes a week in Burntisland, Fife and beyond.
My professional background is in the fields of the environment and creative arts - I am a project manager and I love to organise things - inluding Nia Intensive Trainings in Scotland. I have always loved to dance. As a child I danced every week from the age of 3 to 18 undertaking BATD exams in ballet, tap and modern dance. But there was something about having to get things perfect for the display and the exams, for that one time only when it would matter, that took away much of the enjoyment from all the 'normal' classes we did week in, week out. I love that with Nia the experience in every class is different - and valuable.
I am always happy to see new faces in my classes - Saturdays are always open to beginners, Thursdays you need to come for the first week of a block. Feel free to email me in advance if you have any questions, otherwise I would love to have a quick chat before class starts and if you can arrive 5 - 10 minutes early that gives us a chance to say hello.
Nia Training in Scotland In July 2011 we hosted Scotland's first ever Nia White Belt Intensive training in Burntisland, Fife with Britta Von Tagen and since then I have produced a further four belts with Britta and Letizia Accinelli. Next year, in the summer of 2014, there will be White Belt with Britta von Tagen and Letizia Accinelli (25th - 31st July) and a Blue Belt with Britta von Tagen (18th - 24th July) in The Space Upstairs Studio, Burntisland (near Edinburgh airport).
