I've been teaching Nia since 2005. I draw from early student experience with ballet and jazz dance, as well as 4+ years of Taekwon Do training in Evanston, Illinois, where I earned a rank of Black Stripe. I have delighted in teaching Nia to wide range of audiences, from college students to adults to seniors 80 yrs and better! I have twice taught Taekwon Do technique workshops to Certified Nia Instructors, and produced/taught a special event, "Taekwon Do and the Nia Experience," for teachers and students alike. I've showcased Nia at the Lululemon store in Northbrook, IL. And I'm especially proud to have served the American Parkinson Disease Assoc. as guest presenter of the Nia Technique at two annual symposia.

Long before I discovered Nia, I earned a BFA in graphic design and did studio work throughout Chicagoland. Visual and performance art continue to be vital influences in my life. I'm fairly certain I couldn't live without them. I consider myself a Sunday painter, not to mention a connoisseur of epic walks, soul food and mini golf. But no occupation or avocation has ever given me such enduring satisfaction as teaching Nia has. Nia feeds my soul and provides a beautiful path towards health, happiness and community involvement I think so many of us long for. My classes offer a guts-and-grace approach to fitness that is emotionally rich and athletic, yet easily adaptable to students of all fitness levels. Beginners are always welcome.
