Deepen your embodiment of Nia choreography with this 1-day immersion into Nia's newest routine, Touch!
Created by Nia Trainers Allison Wright and Vickie Saito, Touch takes you on a sensory journey through the body using four touchstones: skin, breath, eyes, and sound. Inspired by the “touch” of silence and sound one experiences when listening to a piece of music, the touchstones provide you with places in the body to anchor your attention as you dance a soundscape of mantra, thick beats, and vocal harmonies. Increase your awareness of sensation using meditative hand mudras, vocal sounding, physical touch, and by making a visual connection with your students as you dance.
Open to everybody (students and teachers), this playshop offers a unique opportunity to learn Nia choreography in a fun and relaxed setting. All immersion participants can attend Saturday 10:15AM class for free, where Allison + Vickie will be teaching Touch.
