Spend six weeks in the purposeful and conscious practice of Nia using with the routine, Cadence.  This practice will be mentally stimulating, emotionally calming and physically engaging. Students new to Nia are encouraged or take your current Nia practice to the *next level*.

The Focus (what you pay attention to) of the routine Cadence is ease. The intent (your desired result) is to find effortlessness in your movement, even while increasing your intensity level.

In six weeks, you’ll learn to use Nia’s three Stages of Practice: Learn, Move and Energize, to embody the Nia choreography of Cadence.  We’ll experience Cadence under the lens of Nia's 52 moves and the sequence of choreography within each song.

The one hour practice includes:
•5 stages or 13-joint Nia warm up
•15-minutes of purposeful and conscious movement-series practice (we call this “stepping on the mat”, like martial artists) without music.
•40 minutes of moving and energizing the choreography of each song with the music (similar to a Nia class)

You’ll dance away with:
•A simple way to learn and practice Nia’s 52 moves in a variety of movement series.
•A deeper connection to your body via sensation.
•An increased ability to know how to condition yourself throughout a Nia routine.

You are welcome to arrive 10-minutes early to prepare, get settled or warm up. Makeup classes are available on Saturdays only while the six-week series is running.
