Over the course of one week, you will comprehensively explore physical sensation through five core-competency areas of study including movement, music, anatomy, science and philosophy. This joyful journey into the self is instrumental in helping you develop body knowing by learning to listen, interpret and consciously respond to the information your body communicates to you via sensation. Enroll in an upcoming training today, and positively shape the way you feel, look, think and live.
Upon graduation, you are eligible to become a livelihood member. As a livelihood member, you obtain a teaching license (whether you decide to use it or not) and have exclusive access to an in-depth continuing education program, an online forum, and special benefits and privileges. You may enroll in the Green Belt Training - which is dedicated to the craft of teaching - at any time after completing your White Belt Training. You may also enroll in the next level of training, Blue Belt Training.

In the spring of 1995 I walked into my first Nia class by chance - and my life changed forever. I was totally disabled by asthma, a physical therapist unable to work and a dancer unable to even cross the room to answer the phone. I could barely breathe and had no business being in a cardio class. But Nia is no ordinary cardio class.
Nia gave me the medicine of awareness and the medicine of The Joy of Movement that allowed me to discover my body’s way to heal. After two years of Nia, my breathing improved by 50%. After seven years, I was off all medication. Today my respiratory function is 130% of normal. You can read about how Nia healed my asthma here.
My path has always been a path of synthesis, inspired by the arts, sciences and cultures of the world. Nia's happy mixture of dance, martial arts and healing arts fits me perfectly. I have danced professionally. I hold a green belt in Shodokan Karate. And I practice physical therapy at my clinic in Ashland, Synergy Physical Therapy.
I did my Nia White Belt Training in 1999 with Nia Co-creators Debbie Rosas and Carlos AyaRosas. Today I am a Nia Black Belt and a Nia Trainer and I am more passionate about the gifts Nia brings than ever!
Nia's philosophy is Through Movement We FInd Health. Nia has brought me physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and well-being. Nia has deepened my love for my own body and for the dance that is all things.
Come, join me for Nia and the practice of The Joy of Movement!

After 22 years of studying a variety of dance forms she took her first Nia class in 2000, fell in love with the practice of Nia and became certified as a Nia teacher. A natural educator, Randee has won national teaching awards through her work with community colleges in the arts. She teaches at her own studio, The Blue Heron Ranch Moving Arts Studio in Sammamish, at Bellevue Family YMCA and at Community Fitness in Seattle. Randee teaches edgy, creative, fun, high energy and engaging Nia classes - that will melt away your stress and leave you blissfully drenched. Her Nia White Belt Trainings are rich with artistry and often taught at the beautiful Blue Heron Ranch Moving Arts Studio on her horse ranch.
By profession Randee is also a visual artist, art teacher and an equestrian educator. She also teaches Nia for horse lovers and has offered special classes called "Nia for Equestrians" and "Boot Scootin' Nia", at equestrian events in Western Washington, in British Columbia and at her ranch studio in Sammamish since 2006. On her ranch she combines Nia with 'dancing with and riding horses' using music and the principles of Nia with her well-trained and gentle horse teachers. “Teaching and sharing the brilliant practice of Nia has been a creative and joyful journey - one that brings all my areas of art and teaching together. Come join us and share the Nia magic with our warm and welcoming community. If your desire is to become a Nia teacher, I would love for you to come train with me."
Testimony from some of Randee's students and colleagues:
“One of the wonderful things about Nia is that the instructor brings their unique focus to bear on the excellent basic material. Randee Fox has a very healing presence and energy. I feel safe in her class in a way that I do not always experience, and I feel that is due to her setting the intention both verbally and nonverbally for her class to be an expressive non-judgmental place. Randee exudes groundedness and calm; yet brings out a lot of energy in the imaginative cues she uses. I was fortunate to experience Randee in my White Belt training as an instructor, as well as in a class when she visited Santa Monica. I would (and did) travel miles to dance with Randee, and recommend you do too.”

“As a trainer, Randee is very creative and detailed in her presentation! If you get a chance, take the opportunity to learn from her!!”

“Having taken many dance classes I can quickly recognize a strong talented teacher and Randee is definitely that. She is very professional, creates a creative safe place for Nia dancing then charges it with energy and a sense of fun and freedom of self expression. Her studio is fantastic, a joy to visit with a great sound system. I also found this strong dynamic teacher to be very kind and approachable before and after class. You're going to love her!"

“Randee is a gifted and energetic teacher who inspires freedom of exploration through movement. I love how Randee weaves empowerment into her fun and invigorating classes. The Nia for Equestrians classes combine my passions for horses and dance. I feel connected with myself and ready to connect joyfully with my horse after Randee's inspiring classes.
