Join us for a HEALING and ENERGIZING afternoon at The Marsh

Water Qigong & Nia with Peter Petersen, Certified Sheng Zhen Qigong Teacher and Marie McKay, Black Belt Certified Nia Instructor

1:00-2:00pm: Experience a blissful Qigong class in the healing, warm water environment overlooking the natural beauty of The Marsh. Peter Petersen is a 12-year Qigong teacher who has shared his passion for this special healing art to many at spa resort retreats throughout the US and Mexico.

2:15-3:15pm: Then, energized and out of the pool for our next segment of an inspiring Nia class with Marie McKay, a Black Belt Certified Nia professional who has previously led the fun as a Nia guest instructor at The Marsh.

We will meet at the Healing Pool for Qigong class and transition to the Movement Studio for Nia.

Please bring swim wear as well as comfortable clothing to change into for movement.

Cultivate your courage, your confidence and your sense of self in a movement and meditation workshop with Liz O’Gara and Beth Giles!

Explore a one-hour Nia class followed by a Kundalini Yoga Meditation for building courage. Nia is a sensory-based movement practice combining dance arts, martial arts and healing arts. We dance and move in bare feet to soul stirring music. 

Meditation in Kundalini Yoga as taught by the master teacher Yogi Bhajan, carefully and precisely supports the mind and guides the body through the use of breath, mantra, mudra, and focus.

Learn to cultivate more courage in your life, deepen your awareness, both in body and soul, and let go of what may be holding you back from experiencing your full potential.

What is Nia?

Nia is a sensory-based movement practice that draws from martial arts, dance arts and healing arts. It empowers people of all shapes and sizes by connecting the body, mind, emotions and spirit. How does Nia work?

Nia draws from Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, jazz dance, modern dance, Duncan dance, yoga, Alexander Technique and Teachings of Moshe Feldenkrais. Every class offers a unique combination of 52 moves that correspond with the main areas of the body: the base, the core and the upper extremities. Stiff beginners and highly fit athletes alike can adapt Nia to meet their needs by choosing from three intensity levels.
