I was introduced to Nia in 1999 while living in Boulder, CO, and after my first class I was hooked!  Always having a strong desire to move and be active, Nia magically shifted my mindset by introducing me to pure joy through exercise, changing my approach to fitness and health forever.

Having been a competitive gymnast and student of Tai Kwon Do and kickboxing as a young adult, I developed an appreciation for both graceful and powerful movements. My interest in human development inspired me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology and Speech Communication in 1992 from the University of MN. 

After several years in a restaurant marketing career which involved an extensive travel schedule, although exciting and fun, I eventually hit a point of mental and physical burn-out. This became a reflective time for me, which through much introspection inspired me to leave the corporate world and re-connect to my passions for teaching and fitness. As my awareness of the mind-body connection evolved I became certified in yoga and Reiki and I continue to study and practice various forms of healing arts, meditation and energy work. 

I am a dynamic and energetic instructor who brings my enthusiasm for personal growth and development to every class I teach. Teaching and dancing Nia makes me feel alive, providing a daily opportunity to be re-inspired and re-discover the healing power of consciously living in the body. Experiencing joy on every level; mind, body and spirit, creating self-awareness, and manifesting self-love are the cornerstones to my classes.

I am a certified Black Belt instructor and I facilitate classes and workshops at various health clubs, hospitals, corporations, and colleges throughout the Twin Cities area.
