I started dancing Nia  2 years ago in April and I have to say it has increased the quality of my life by quantum leaps! It didn't take me long to know that this would be more than a source of self-healing; it would be a professional calling. I did my White Belt training this past February and it was, no doubt, a magical and sacred experience. My mentor and trainer, Britta Von Tagen of Boise, Idaho, encouraged me to work with her teaching Nia to kids. Teaching Nia for kids is a truly inspiring experience. I wish that I knew about Nia when I was young! What a gift it is to share The Joy of Movement to kids! Not only does it encourage freedom of expression and joyful play, it is the start of  beautiful relationship with the body:)

I currently teach a Nia for Kids Class at The International School  in Portland, OR. I am also available for substitute teaching for any Nia teacher in the Portland community.
