The Nia White Belt Training is the first level of a five-belt training series that presents a body-centered approach to health, wellness and fitness. If you have a desire to share Nia in a professional capacity, the White Belt Training is your entryway into teaching. Those who choose to pursue the path of personal enrichment use this training as a starting point for becoming a master student.
Over the course of one week, you will comprehensively explore physical sensation through five core-competency areas of study including movement, music, anatomy, science and philosophy. This joyful journey into the self is instrumental in helping you develop body knowing by learning to listen, interpret and consciously respond to the information your body communicates to you via sensation. Enroll in an upcoming training today, and positively shape the way you feel, look, think and live.
Upon graduation, you are eligible to become a livelihood member. As a livelihood member, you obtain a teaching license (whether you decide to use it or not) and have exclusive access to an in-depth continuing education program, an online forum, and special benefits and privileges. You may enroll in the Green Belt Training - which is dedicated to the craft of teaching - at any time after completing your White Belt Training. You may also enroll in the next level of training, Blue Belt Training.

Sophie Marsh thrives on sharing her contagious passion for Nia, inspiring people to live their authentic joy and offering innovative Nia classes, playshops, retreats and White Belt trainings. She believes embodying the Joy of Movement is key to embracing our innate vitality, body wisdom and passion for life.
The first Australian Nia Black Belt and Nia Trainer, Sophie blends over 15 years experience in holistic fitness and as a corporate trainer in sales, systems and staff development. Through Nia's playful integration of body, mind and spirit Sophie lovingly guides people to move beyond their perceived limits, to discover and express the infinite potential of their true selves, to connect with others in meaningful ways and to co-create conscious communities.
"In 1999 I danced my first Nia class in Boulder Colorado and it changed my life. Every cell tingled with sparkling aliveness and the music and movement felt like they'd been designed just for me. Now I realise that this is what happens when we quieten our mind, tune into our body, move with pleasure and express our unique spirit. Back then, I just knew that after Nia I felt amazing and I wanted more. So began my Nia journey into knowing, healing and loving my Self through the body and sharing those gifts with others. Since bringing Nia home to Queensland in 2004 I have had the joy of co-creating and supporting Nia's growth and recognition in Australia while travelling annually to the US to continue my Nia education and belt trainings. I feel blessed to share this life-enhancing practice as a Nia Trainer, offering Nia's rich somatic education around Australia and beyond."
