About Nia

What is Nia?

Nia is a sensory-based movement practice that draws from martial arts, dance arts and healing arts. It empowers people of all shapes and sizes by connecting the body, mind, emotions and spirit. Classes are taken barefoot to soul-stirring music in more than 45 countries. Trainings are designed for those seeking personal enrichment and professional development. Every experience can be adapted to individual needs and abilities. Step into your own joyful journey with Nia, and positively shape the way you feel, look, think and live.

How does Nia work?

Nia draws from Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, jazz dance, modern dance, Duncan dance, yoga, Alexander Technique and Teachings of Moshe Feldenkrais. Every class offers a unique combination of 52 moves that correspond with the main areas of the body: the base, the core and the upper extremities. Stiff beginners and highly fit athletes alike can adapt Nia to meet their needs by choosing from three intensity levels. Why was Nia created?

Cost

Weekly classes are run according to school terms. Summer programs, workshops and retreats are also available

Cost for a 10 week term is $100 (1 class per week) or $140 for unlimited Nia classes (up to 3 classes per week)

Making Nia your regular fitness practice with increase core strength, flexibility, stamina and mobility. Most importantly it will fill your life with joy and pleasure!
 

Notes About This Class

Please wear loose comforatble clothing to layer up or down

Arrive 5 minutes before class commencement

Bring a bottle of water and a blanket or yoga mat for floorplay if you feel you need it

Go at your own pace, focus on the class being a pleasurable experience for your body and most of all have fun!

Bookings are essential!
