After many months of requests, a Nia class will now be offered in Hanover. What is Nia, you ask?

Nia is a full body workout that incorporates dance, martial arts, and the healing arts, and has been embraced by women and men of all ages and levels of agility. Its philosophy of pleasure (not pain), and barefoot fun, appeals to almost everyone who has tried it, tens of thousands all over the world.

Not only are the physical benefits of the body well served - flexibility, mobility, strength, agility and balance - but the holistic aspect of Nia also soothes the spirit and calms the mind. Great music, natural movement in "The Body's Way" and a welcoming environment all serve to create a place where "students" can come to experience their own personal "Joy of Movement."

What else does Nia offer? Let the students tell you themselves:

"I so look forward to my Nia class each week, and when it's over my whole body feels good and I feel so happy." T. C., 54

"My job is so stressful, if I didn't have Nia, I just might burst!" L. K., 37

"Nia has really helped my hip. It was injured years ago while skating, and now if feels freer and I'm much more flexible." S. R., 19

"Nia has brought me back to health after my severe illness." D. A., 48

"Nia makes me feel sexy and more sensual. My husband loves this new Me." O. S., 46

"Nia has really helped me control my blue moods." C. M., 25

"I've put the needs of other's ahead of my own forever. Finally I realize that to be able to give to others without resentment, I also have to give to myself. Going to Nia puts me at the same level of importance as everyone else. This is what I give to myself." S. D., 34

"Nia has given me greater body confidence and appreciation of the body I have." L. T., 50

Nia is a rich mind-body program that bursts the boundaries of age, gender, and fitness levels, delivering a fun, effective and life-changing practice for all walks of life.

Several upcoming events will launch Nia's entry into Hanover and all will be held at The Indira Devi Studio of Yoga, 330 10th St., second floor. Call ahead by contacting Vita Wind at 519-986-7526 to register and to ensure your place for each event.
