Inventing Yourself From The Inside Out

The words "new" and "change" have become buzzwords in today's society, used to attract and motivate people to take action. People look at their bodies and say "Yes, I want a new body and a changed life."

Creating something new and causing change are seductive energetic forces natural in life and the body. Change is the one thing in life, and in a body, that can be counted on. Yet, what good is change and something new on the outside if what's inside cannot maintain and sustain it? What good is new and change if it is temporary and does not add to the joy and pleasure one experiences? Effecting change on the inside is the only way to truly create something new.

Nia demands you pay attention to and notice what it happening on the inside before you even think about what is going on or going to happen on the outside. Nothing really ever develops or grows merely from outside encouragement. To grow or change, an internal catalyst – an energy source – is required.

In Nia, you consciously direct your energy source to create something new. The conscious creation of change on the inside turns what is new and happening in the moment into changes that last, and add awareness and meaning to the experience and to life. It is the process of change that results from seeking new and unique experiences that keeps us prepared, anticipating, and ready for what is needed in the now and in the future.

We have always loved how Nia coaxes us to seek new experiences, new sensations, new awareness, and new growth. Generating change is just what we do in Nia, and because we follow The Body's Way, we are always experiencing something new, and being new, moment-to-moment. Nia gives you a new body and a new life because Nia works from the inside out.

Take on changing your body and life with Nia. Go inside yourself and stay there. Connect to feel-good sensations that keep you connected to what you do. Make what you feel more important than what you see, and make the internal space for external changes be one of love and joy.

Everyday, wake up and ask, "What can I do to stay in my body, and remain connected to sensations that keep me in my body and motivated to change by noticing good feelings and sensations." Be in charge of creating a healthy internal environment for your body. Fill it with good feelings, thoughts, and sensations. As Ghandi said, "Be the change you want to see in the world."
