From the CEO

Giving Thanks

I have a love-hate relationship with December. I love the holidays, celebration, family and friends gathering to be together. I hate the energy of tension that seems to lurk and often cloud the “joy” of this time. I find great comfort in knowing that Nia gives me tools to deal with it all. So I sit back, take a deep breath, and call upon Joy, and if I’m lucky, I remember how easy it is to shift, and that I have the power to “tweak” any and all situations. Such is the life of Nia’s CEO.

We do a lot of celebrating at HQ. Seems like every day brings so many things to be thankful for. It is common to hear shrieks of joy, laughter, and the sounds of people who really love their jobs. It is a good place to be and work. I give thanks everyday for the opportunity to do what I love, and to serve my staff and you all. We are an amazing team.

This December, I want to give thanks to my team at HQ, the people who bring their wisdom, creativity, patience, and love to this work. I get to see their successes and failures, their ups and downs, their personal and professional paths merge. The NiaHQ Team is a unique culture of people who believe in you and in Nia. They believe that each individual can make a difference. Believe me, they each do! They stay late, arrive early, miss lunch, hold the space for me, and for you, and even when they are weary, they are here. They are the heart of Nia, for it is their beat that keeps Nia alive. Without them, I, Debbie and Carlos and you, could not manifest the Nia dream as well.

We are all connected. At this time of year, especially, I feel I am blessed to be connected to such amazing and talented people. To my staff, I give thanks.
