International Sound Healing Conference Re-cap

Debbie and Carlos presented morning classes, and their workshop, “Vocal Sounding, Emotions, and Free Dancing” at the International Sound Healing Conference, in Santa Fe, New Mexico in November. The conference, the first of its kind in the US, gathered together leading-edge researchers, practitioners, scientists, composers, musicians and recording artists in the fascinating and fast-growing fields of sound healing, vibrational medicine, music therapy and body/mind/brain/spirit research. More than just a conference, this event was a celebration with music, dancing, singing, chanting, experiential workshops and, of course, intensive learning sessions such as Nia.

In addition to the amazing Nia workshop, the Nia classes were packed! Carlos said, “The attendees were quite responsive. People said they felt the healing effect of how Nia and sound work together.” Debbie said, “This world is the right place for Nia. Every practitioner of sound healing can benefit from Nia movement, The Body’s Way, and from our message: You are an instrument of Sound, the Universal Tuning Fork. Keep your instrument tuned through movement, awareness, and Sensory IQ. Listen to the voices of your body. Sing your song every time you move.”
