Join Nia Co-Creator Debbie Rosas to Learn the Move: Duck Walk
Standing, your heels glued to the earth, one foot at a time lifts and lowers as if walking. Alternately lift and then lower the toes and balls of each foot, as if you are slapping the ground to splash water in a puddle. To get into the mood, Sound the sound: “Quack!” This is excellent for the calves and shins and for improving your ability to start and stop in a stress-free way.
In Nia, use the Duck Walk to strengthen the muscles in the front of our shins while stretching our calves. For Yoga students, practicing the Duck Walk increases strength and flexibility of the lower leg, making it possible to support the upper body more peacefully. For Spinning students practicing the Duck Walk improves your ability to use the ball of the foot when pedaling. For Step Class students practicing Duck Walk improves your ability to start and stop.
Take your Nia practice to the next level.
