Nia found me in 2005. A Nia instructor came into my first studio at the request of one of her students to bring Nia to our small town. It sounded right up my alley and we planned classes right away! Knowing there were no Nia instructors anywhere in our area besides this one young mother of 3, I thought it a good idea to venture in to the world of Nia by taking the White Belt training, so in case she ever needed backup (which undoubtedly a young mother will), I was able to carry the torch. OH MAN! Talk about life changing! Long story short, the teacher who introduced Nia to my life taught one class I believe before getting injured in a fall (unrelated to Nia) and overwhelmed with mamahood so I took on the lead of Nia guide for our area and beyond. 3 studios and 2 belt trainings later, I have had the joy of leading other students to the Nia way of life and to becoming teachers of The Body's Way. My body and mind have never been as healthy and balanced as with my Yoga, Martial Arts, Meditation and now Nia practices. Nia has brought more to my fluidity of physical movement than any other practice I've explored. And there's so much more!
