My Nia journey started almost a decade ago, in 2005, when I stepped for the first time into a Nia class in Stanford, CA. I immediately felt at home and fell in love with the practice and everything about it: the music, the movements, the playfulness, and the physical improvements and the emotional relaxation. It felt like being a child once again: free in my body, mind and spirit, happily exploring movement, sensation, music and imagination. I could gradually feel stronger, more flexible, and more relaxed. I wouldn't miss a class..
I have practiced Nia ever since. In summer 2009, pregnant with my second child, I took the White Belt intensive at the Nia Headquarters in Portland, OR, with Nia Co-Founder Debbie Rosas, Caroline Kohles and Helen Terry. Needless to say, I continued practicing Nia until the last day of pregnancy, and actually, when contractions began, I started dancing to a Nia routine... In 2010, I took the Green Belt training in Israel with Debbie Rosas and Winalee Zeeb, and in 2012, became Blue Belt certified in Texas, with Helen Terry.
I have been teaching Nia in Gainesville, FL, since 2010. I love teaching Nia and am thrilled by the opportunity of sharing this unique practice with others. Nia has brought so much energy, health and happiness into my life, and I am eager to share these gifts with the community.
