I was introduced to Nia in 2002 back in Germany. I got hooked pretty quickly and even used it with my language students (see the following article about Nia in the classroom http://publish.ucc.ie/scenario/2008/01/retzlaff/04/en). Nia has given me the right balance between my academic career and the expressive part of me.

I continue to learn more about me and my body and to move pleasurably. It seems that Nia is growing stronger and stronger in my heart and mind every day. I am part of a great little Nia teacher community in Ottawa, ON and hope we can spread the joy of movement to many people here.
