National Dance Week Nia Flash Mob

What better way to Celebrate Nia’s 30th Anniversary and National Dance Week than with a Dance in the Park?

On Saturday, April 27th, park goers at Portland’s, Director’s Park were treated to sunny skies and an enthusiastic Nia Flash Mob dance performance. 100 or so movin’ and groovin’ Nia dancers let it all fly to the foot tapping, soul stirring, dance happening music of the new Nia Fly Routine. Everyone had a fantastic time! On-lookers were smiling and bobbing to the beat as the dancers shimmied, shook and shared that Nia Energy!

Nia Graduates 40 New White Belt Trainers!

We're overjoyed to announce that we've added 40 new White Belt Trainers to the Nia Training Faculty! 

On January 31st, 2013, the Nia Training Faculty grew from 13 to 53 trainers worldwide. The graduation ceremony, held at StudioNia in Portland, Oregon, marked the finale to Nia's two year-long Next Generation Trainer program. Lead by Nia Founder and Co-Creator Debbie Rosas, Nia communities worldwide celebrated as each trainer received the status of Red Belt, the highest belt level (presently) in the Nia belt system.

On Sunday, November 25, 2012, the world lost a gifted teacher, mother, healer, and radiant woman. Lisa Geddings was a loved and celebrated Nia Black Belt Teacher and Life Coach.

I remember taking a bath one night and sensing the loss I will be a part of - losing people in my life that I have met through Nia. Yesterday, Lisa passed away surrounded by family and friends, and I was faced with the truth and reality of knowing and loving people: loss is part of it all, and it is painful.
