Now is the time to plan a mini vacation to Marin County, the place where Nia was first created more than 30 years ago. It's here that pre-registered attendees will have the unique opportunity to take a Nia class with Nia Co-Creator Debbie Rosas on Thursday, April 5th at Move Me Studio in San Rafael, California!

To experience Nia with Debbie in such a special location is to explore the profound magnificence of your body–the sacredness of your authentic self and the joy of movement. No previous experience is necessary to take this class, and all body types and ability levels are welcome. Registration is full for the evening class, which will be held from 6:00-7:00 PM. A morning class may be added.

Debbie, who is making the trip south from Nia International Headquarters in Portland, OR, for the second time this year, shares, “I got so excited when I saw the studio space. For the first time in a long time, I feel Nia will again thrive where the practice was birthed.”

Move Me Studio owner Sarah Caveney, a Marin County resident for more than 10 years, moved to the area to raise her family after spending four years as a high-tech recruiter in the Silicon Valley. She discovered Nia thanks to a recommendation from her massage therapist. Sarah had grown restless and was looking for a way to reclaim her independence and feed her spirit and soul. A former dancer and gymnast, she always loved moving and encouraging others to move. Nia was, as she describes, a natural fit.

As Sarah explains, “I always felt that Marin County needed a dedicated studio, but wasn’t quite sure what that would look like. Then at a family reunion, I discovered Madrone Mind Body Institute, which was truly a beautiful example of what I thought we needed back home,” says Caveney. Now, Caveney sees Move Me Studio as, “becoming the place to find one’s authentic self, to explore, to create, to find community, and most importantly, to move and be healthy.”

Come experience Nia from the source and see for yourself why Debbie describes Move Me Studio as having, “wonderful, dark, wood floors that beg for feet." In her words, "The high ceilings, open air space and lights are ideal for moving and grooving.”

If you happen to be in town this week, Nia Teacher Karri Winn is visiting Move Me Studio from Nia Headquarters and will be teaching Nia this Thursday, March 22nd, from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Then on Saturday, March 24th, Move Me Studio is hosting its Grand Opening event, which begins at 2:00 PM! This is your chance to try a mini version of every type of class Move Me offers while enjoying music and tasting delicious snacks and homemade chai. Complimentary chair massages and astrology readings will be available on a sign-up basis in between classes.
