Honoring Don Campbell

Dear Nia Community,
It is with deep sadness in my heart that I share the news that a dear mentor, Don Campbell, has passed away. As one of the leaders in health and wellness who taught us all the power of music as healing sound, Don and his work, along with his joy and natural ability to touch people, will live on forever.
I feel lucky to have met him, trained with him, and watched a room ignite into a blaze of inspiration and laughter from his wisdom. The work of Nia and my heart were both touched by Don in a profound way that lives on through everyone who listens and dances to his music. My understanding of sound and the healing power of resonance comes from Don having the courage to look, seek and find answers to something he felt deeply about—healing people!
His whole journey is well chronicled on the CaringBridge website. You can read his story (the beginning of the journey), his on-going journal, and almost 2,000 entries in the guestbook. It is all filled with his wisdom, humor and wit, and an incredible out-pouring of love from around the world.
A unique, two-hour memorial service was held on June 13th in Boulder, which included a variety of music, speakers, and surprises. After much collaboration by talented friends, the video of that service is now posted online. Click here to watch it.
Don will be missed, and he will be remembered.
