Prior to inventing the Nia Technique, I practiced Tae Kwon Do which teaches you to resist forces. Aikido is very different. Aikido is about grace, grounding, relaxing, awareness, centering, and energy. Aikido teaches you to understand power and how to use your hands and body to harmonize force rather than resist it. What I love about this book is that it’s clear and direct and gets to the point quickly. The author also discusses the history and philosophy of Aikido in a way that is accessible and easy to understand.

Anatomy of Movement
This excellent book has simplicity of language that is easy to follow and understand. It gives the reader symbols and functional descriptions to access all the information which can be applied to Nia’s 52 moves. The book contains hundreds of drawings showing the attachments and actions of the skeletal muscles. It will help you become a sensation scientist from the inside out.
