WB FAB 2006 Recap

September 16-22, 2006 - Studio Nia, Portland, Oregon, U.S.A.

Debbie and Carlos felt very happy with the outcome of FAB 2006, Portland. They were able to implement the conditioning ideas that had originated in Hamburg, and enacted the principles of Personal and Professional Conditioning.

The Personal Conditioning concepts began in the morning – focusing on all the exercises based on 13 WB principles for themselves. These were presented on a Personal level. In the afternoon, the same principles were activated, but from the perspective of a Professional and as a teacher to educate and implement the 13 Principles within a class format.

It was wonderful to host FAB at Studio Nia. The week felt magical, everyone came in with clear sense of purpose, and wanted to have a deep connection with the work.

Carlos said, “It was really nice to see how people were so open to the mystery. They experienced the conditioning quality of Nia. Before, conditioning was a ‘concept rather than a reality. There was much pain connected to the concept, rather than pleasure, and many people learned that Nia and conditioning go hand in hand. There were lot’s of light bulbs and Wow’s!”

During FAB Carlos and Debbie formed Belt pods to re-hash the information and speak within each participant’s Belt education level. From there, all the belts together shared what they all had experienced from all education levels to have reflections of Nia practice in motion.

Along with exciting evening sessions and the presentation of Nia’s new business plan, we had a blow-out of a graduation party!

Trainer’s Summit 2006 Recap

September 23-24, 2006

Twelve White Belt Trainers came to Portland directly after FAB for the Trainer’s Summit to speak about Nia education and to discuss ways Nia can be improved.

This summit was a meeting of the minds and a co-creative process with the Trainers and the Nia Executive Team. Everyone talked about Nia as an education, and where and how Nia can do more in the way we deliver education to the teachers and general public.

Carlos commented, “It was wonderful to be face-to-face with other Trainers for two days sharing ideas, giving opinions. How powerful, necessary, and energizing! It was also really good to spend two full days working in a group with Debbie, Dick, Jeff, David, and Kali. I really sensed the integrity of community.”
