Nia Testimonial: Kinga Brezina, Nia Teacher

BA in Hungarian, Certified Access Bars Instructor

About me:

I am a PR expert and in my "before-Nia" time, I worked for radio stations, PR agencies and two Hungarian state-owned companies. I loved my job, I really did. And then when I became pregnant with my second son, my body started to talk to me, saying things like, "Kinga, I want to dance." So I searched and found Nia. After my second Nia class I was sure that it was "The Thing" I want to do, and when I heard that Nia Trainer Helen Terry was coming to hold a White Belt Training here, in Budapest, there was no question that I would participate.

So, in 2010, I became a White Belt graduate and Nia teacher. I started to teach once a week while attending my regular Nia classes (held by Andi Hriczu and Angi Molnár). Then, suddenly, I had three classes... and then four. Since springtime, I have been teaching five classes a week!

All of us who teach, dance, and practice Nia can say that our lives have changed. I gave up my PR and dove deep into Nia. Holding the classes, having regular workshops, and hosting weekend retraets is fun, fun, fun and fun. I am deeply in love with my husband, who gave me his two helping hands (because of the evening classes, he is the one who does the holy "dinner-bath-bed" triangle with our boys).

Who knows what is coming next? I ask day by day, "How am I so lucky to hav found my path in this life?" And of course, I ask, "What else is possible?"

This Christmas was the first during which I spent as a real Nia teacher, and I can thank my students for it! They are the ones who "transformed" me into the "teacher-being" I am. Together we found joy, energy healing, fun, ease and community in Nia.

Why do you practice and/or teach Nia?

Nia gives me freedom and a relaxed, intense, joyful, present life.

Where and with whom do you take Nia classes and/or trainings?

I took my White Belt Training with Helen Terry, and I whenever I have the chance, I take Andi Hriczu's classes.

What is one thing most people don't know about Nia?

The free flow of joy and ease in the body, spirit, soul and emotions.

What tip can you give someone who is considering trying Nia for the first time?

Slow down and don't think. Your body knows what to do!
