As a child, dancing was probably the biggest part and love of my life, with my mother having run a big and successful dancing studio in London.

Then, as a teenager I gravitated more towards music and eventually became a concert pianist after completing both a BMus degree and a postgraduate performance diploma at the Guildhall School of Music in London.

Into my twenties, in addition to my concert pianist and piano teaching work,  I extensively practised Tai Chi, Yoga, breath work, meditation, had 6 months of weekly Alexander Technique lessons,  and became very interested in living a life in alignment with higher purpose. 

Previous professions for me have included work as a massage therapist, a Reiki and Sound Healer, a choir director, and a houseparent to special needs teenage students.  In addition to teaching Nia, I also currently teach piano, and am mother to 2 wonderful boys. 

Nia entered my life in a most wonderful way: having heard about it for years from my South African cousin, and then from my sister (a White Belt), I got a resounding 'YES' to doing both the White Belt and then Blue Belt training with Helen Terry!    It is my passion and joy to move, be and listen in this way, and brings together all aspects of past me's, coming full circle into the present moment me that is always excited to share this 'movement medicine' with you!  Come and join me!
